As I sit here on a lazy Sunday, I must convey how much appreciation I have for people who would lop off their hair and donate it to Locks of Love. So many of you all did that last Wednesday at Starr Hill, and we're privileged to have been able to provide a bit of background music for you while you did . . .

Shapiro is pretty much taking it easy until after Christmas, when we will start the shows up once again. Nathan has been working like a madman on the Christmas musical he wrote, and his last performance was today. So that's a load off his mind for sure. For those of you that missed it, it was amazing. Nathan wrote the whole 90 minute play (including the music), and performed the main part himself, all while practicing/playing shows with Shapiro and working two jobs. The play itself was hilarious and moving. This kid has talent.

So what's he doing in Shapiro, right? Har-de-har.

I really don't want to start screening the comments left on this blog site, but if these freaking "Deer Hunting Supply" spam comments don't cease, I think I'm going to have to. Hey, advertise somewhere else, will you?

Well, I'm going to go pop in a delicious Lean Cuisine dinner and talk on my sweet new Cingular Wireless Cell Phone. Happy Holidays . . .

Amoco House was packed last Friday. We didn't even advertise in Harrisonburg; word got around though, I guess. I'm sure the free drinks didn't hurt, either . . .

So I had some time to kill today before my last final. I decided to go into Costco and get some free food samples. As I was walking away from a teriaki chicken stand, I thought I heard someone say it. No, I thought, there's no possible way I heard what I thought I did.

So I turned to the lady, who was wearing a dress and a head covering. Either Mennonite or Amish, I can never tell them apart. Anyways, I smiled.

She said it again: "Aren't you one of those rockers?"

I had to laugh. Apparently she had read the article in this Saturday's paper. For those of you that missed it, there was a huge article on Shapiro and a picture that took up half the freaking page. The article can be found here.

Actually the reporter who wrote it, Martin Cizmar, came to our Amoco House show on Friday. I think he enjoyed himself. He's a cool guy, Martin. Went to law school so he's probably smarter than you. Nice to know that someone with documented intelligence enjoys our music . . . all hope is not lost for us . . .

Starr Hill Music Hall . . . what a great venue. Thanks to everyone who came out, the turnout was awesome and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Don't forget, we're playing there again on December 14th. It's a UVA Children's Hospital/Locks of Love benefit, starts at 7:00 and costs $6 at the door. BUT if you donate your hair then you get in for free. That's the word on the street anyways. Jeremy told the audience last night that after every song we will be cutting off a lock of Nathan's hair. I don't think Nathan had agreed to this beforehand.

I'm sure it's a sacrifice he'll be willing to make. Plus it'll be funny.

I'm blown away once again by our Harrisonburg friends and their support for us. So many people from Harrisonburg drove down last night to see us, and it was so nice to see some familiar faces in the crowd. You know who you are.

Jason, thanks for staying to the end and letting Jeremy talk . . . hahaha.

Dan and Charles (Monkey) . . . always good to see you guys.

MARTIN--thanks for coming with us man. It was fun. SPEAKING OF WHICH, everyone make sure to read the Harrisonburg Daily News Record next week . . . the article is supposed to run on Saturday (Dec 10) I believe. See my ugly mug in the paper, for shizzle.

Friday, December 9th. House Party, Harrisonburg. More info coming.

LOVE.
